Behind the Scenes: The Philadelphia Story {Part 1}

I believe this was Katharine's stage performance at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, MA - 1939.
James Stewart wasn't at all comfortable with some of the dialog, especially in the swimming pool scene, which also required him to act in a dressing gown. He said at the time that if he'd played the scene in just a swimming costume it would have been the end of his career. (IMDB)
Who doesn't love some of our favorite film stars captured unposed and candid on set? Most of these pictures capture George Cukor directing Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart on the MGM set, 1940.
It took eight weeks to film - no retakes.

P.S. And who doesn't love this face? ;)
