Concetta's Closet

So this past week I had a wonderful opportunity to visit Concetta's Closet in Newmarket, NH. I had seen the beautiful dresses, the shop owner, Dana, posted on Facebook and knew I had to go there sometime. The moment I saw she was looking for models, I jumped at the chance. Walking into her store was complete eye candy. Putting on gorgeous dress after gorgeous dress to my heart's content. It's a funny feeling when you find a dress that just clicks when you put it on. That perfect fit, the breathable fabric, just the right amount of flounce when the skirt moves. Maybe my real dream is to help every woman find that dress.
Here's a sneak peek of some of the dresses I modeled. Let me tell you, it's certainly surreal to see yourself on Etsy!

It's all in the details...

I have quite a large hat collection - and it keeps growing every year! Here are just a few of them.

Oh, hey!

I'm aliveee! And currently sitting in my serene, green room next to a sunlit window. Ahh, peace.

Many things have happened since I last wrote. Too many to write them all here, but highlights include: tap dance (!), WICKED The Musical in Boston, my new job (secretary/assistant in my dad's office), Starbucks frappuccinos, sewing, and many, many Jimmy Stewart movies. (Yes, I am determined to watch all of them.)
Well, my friends..I must attend kitchen duties. Therefore I leave you with this:

“Friend, you are a divine mingle-mangle of guts and stardust. So hang in there!
If doors opened for me, they can open for anyone.”

Well, east coast girls are hip..

As promised, I brought a {working!} camera. On Thursday, we arrived at the lake just after someone had vomited in it. (don't worry, I didn't capture any photos of that) So it was at least 45 minutes before we could actually swim. It was extraordinarily hot with the sun beating down. I dug my toes in the cool sand and read. I brought with me I Capture the Castle - one of the loveliest books. Once I'm done I hope to watch the movie. I love looking at the movie stills, costumes and scenery...anyway, I digress. Onto the pictures...
This was the train station in Wolfeborough, I think only trolleys go through it now.
We stopped at Bailey's Bubble for some ice cream. They also have some of the best hot fudge around!
I got German chocolate cake ice cream with gummy bears. I guess some people might think gummy bears and chocolate is gross. I think it's one of the best combinations ever. Or at least better than the new chocolate & bacon idea. I have yet to try it, but still...who's idea was that?
My brother's ice cream mustache...made me think of Charlie Chaplin. :)
Erin has fabulous style. ;) Check out her purse!

A Bittersweet Year

I've been busy with tap dance this past week. I had a recital last Saturday. I have been dancing most of my life. I did ballet for nearly seven years and tap once when I was four. I took tap up again during high school and it has been the best four years of dance. I started with my old friends and ended with new ones. It is sad to think this may have been my last year - at least for now. I could continue to dance where I have been and keep excelling, but it will depend where I am in life at that point.
This year my class danced to a blues piece. We wore nifty hats, ties and men's oxford shirts. The shirt was practically a dress on me. I took it in, but I still felt like a waitress wearing a mu-mu. Anyway, it looked fine in the end and I even grew fond of my costume - I usually do. :)
Can you tell which one is me?Yup - second from the right!

The Big One-Eight!

So, for my 18th birthday, my parents and I took a trip to Newburyport, MA. We went shopping downtown where there were many shops filled with beautiful clothes - yes, lots of vintage. I ate delicious chocolate mousse. And everywhere I went they played 60's music. It was magical. :) (Sorry if this post is a little picture-heavy!)
