Dasvidania!

Well, I'm off to Ukraine! I'll be gone for about 11 days...but hang in there! I'll be back with Christmas photos and to tell you about my mission trip.

Get around 'round 'round, I get around

I've never ridden my bike on the beach before. It was quite a thrill!

This picture reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". Don't worry, I wasn't attacked...or even pooped on. ;)

I realized later that you weren't supposed to ride your bike in the water. Oops.

A Day in Charleston

We ate at the Hominy Grill for dinner. It used to be an old barber shop. It was a nice, quaint, little restaurant.

Walking around, I noticed a lot of old theaters that were turned into new shops and restaurants. I love when they are all lit up. It brings you to another era. Mom & I stopped at the Cupcake. With their pink argyle painted walls and sweet display of cupcakes, I fell in love. I ordered red velvet, its been a long while since I had anything red velvet, but they were out. So, naturally, I ordered chocolate and was most certainly not disappointed.

Settled In

Some really good books...
(As a side note, I am a huge Harry Potter fan and only recently got sucked into the Twilight series!)

I love when all my belongings are so neatly displayed. Organization rules. (Sorry, first child syndrome.)

A king-size bed all to myself!

The peanut-jelly-fluff sandwich

Yesterday, I gave my brother a choice between jelly or fluff. Since he refused to talk, I just gave him all three.
Which he seemed to enjoy.

A Quiet Day

Today, I enjoyed the afternoon sun streaming through my window, seldom does it come. Sitting, reading Dodie Smith's 1930's novel I Capture the Castle. It's quite a lovely book so far. I'm only on chapter three. There's something about the setting I like. The Belmotte tower, castle ruins in the moonlight, sitting by the hearth of a fire...also the characters are wonderful. Seventeen year-old Cassandra who writes everyday life in her journal and her sister, Rose, who wants life to be like a Jane Austen novel complete with her knight in shining armor.
